Propaganda by Edward Bernays

My Review

A skimpy little yellow book with the thoughts of The Father of Public Relations published in the mid 1920s. Takes the mystique off of someone who is often seen as “the wizard behind the curtain” of major PR campaigns in the 20th century. Bernays speaks of the hidden ruling body which controls the minds of the masses through propaganda. On the whole this book offers a fairly intuitive step by step manual on how to garner public opinion, and why that is inseparable from politica, fashion, education, business, and politics. Essentially, connecting with the temperature of the public is paramount. Although its mediums may change that, “Proganda will never die out.” Lastly, I was struck by how many typos and errors were in the manuscript.
